We don’t pretend to be San Francisco or New York, but Eugene has a lot to offer – particularly for those of you interested in a great education with lots of benefits. The Eugene/Springfield metro area has around 250,000 people. Its exceptional parks and abundance of recreation options, low crime and lush valley location make it the perfect place for students.

Eugene is known as Track Town U.S.A. Hayward Field, on the University of Oregon campus, is known as one of the most famous tracks in the country, and will host the 2008 U.S. Olympic Track Trials.

Eugene is situated along the Willamette and McKenzie rivers and in the valley between the Cascade Mountains and the Inner Coastal Range. There are 250 miles of bike paths and trails in Eugene and plenty more trails nearby. Go an hour west for a day on the beach or an hour east for snowboarding.
